Matt and I spent a long weekend in San Juan because at almost any given time, you can find pretty cheap roundtrip flights and I was in desperate need of sun and saltwater.
Here's where we went, what we did, and the food we ate...
We stayed at the Marriott San Juan- not my typical accommodation choice, but Matt's credit card points paid for it and truthfully, it was really nice to have a pool with a swim up bar and be right on the beach.

Additionally, I discovered my new favorite juice- Soursop juice, at their breakfast restaurant.

We had several good meals- one at Cocina Abierta, (left) right near our hotel, but the real winner is Marmalade. YOU MUST EAT HERE. And you MUST get the white bean soup. It doesn't sound like much, but it's literally famous and, no joke, the best soup I've had. We did the 5 course meal..mine is below. I didn't order the soup (fail,) so I just stole some of Matt's.

We also strolled along Old San Juan, bopping into shops, eating foods, and seeing the sights. Be sure to read about why the cobblestones are blue.
We also checked out Castillo de San Cristobal and Castillo San Felipe del Morro San Juan, (old forts along the coast of San Juan.) One ticket got us into both. This was a good amount of walking from one to the other and through town..so...comfy shoes.
Mostly though, we spent our time at the beach or by the pool where I made Matt take pictures and he loved every second of it. #thelife
